Lehigh County Authority is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Allentown, PA. In this role, you will perform a variety of analyses on environmental and process control samples, perform sample collection and field analyses as needed, and provide excellent customer service to our customers, citizens and internal departments.

In this role you will have an opportunity to make a significant and meaningful contribution to the success of LCA through the following core job responsibilities:
• Perform analyses on various environmental samples
• Ensure sample integrity, preparation, instrument set up, quality control tracking, and sample reporting
• Data collection, data entry, and dissemination of data. Utilize computers, LIMS system, and spreadsheets
• Work will be performed at both the water filtration plant and wastewater treatment plant laboratories
• You will rotate among all stations in the water and wastewater laboratories
• Participate in research projects, collecting and analyzing research samples
• Respond professionally and politely to information requests
• Collection of field samples and performing field analyses as needed
• Maintain neat and orderly workstations
• Related work as required

Important Qualifications to your Success
• Education: A degree in biology, chemistry, environmental science, or related field
• Experience: 1 year of chemical testing of water and wastewater
• Licensure: Valid driver’s license needed to operate company vehicles
• Scheduling: Day shift hours, rotational weekends/holidays and occasional overtime
• Skills: Knowledge of sampling concepts, standard chemical and bacteriological testing of water and wastewater
• Technical: Computer proficient and skilled in Microsoft Excel. LIMS highly desired
• Work Environment: May be required to work in all outside weather conditions for field sampling/analyses as needed
